Eating Recovery
Eating Recovery is the clinician side of pediatric eating disorder care, covering ARFID, picky eating, and restrictive patterns. It pairs with the family-side Eating Recovery app (see the app page).
Where it lives
Everything is inside the patient record:
| Location | What's there |
|---|---|
| Care Plan → Recovery Plan | The overall plan for this patient |
| Care Plan → Surveys | Assign and review screeners: PARDI-AR-Q, NIAS, SCOFF, EDY-Q, EAT-26/ChEAT, plus your own |
| Care Plan → Drivers | The drivers behind the feeding difficulty you're targeting |
| Care Plan → Routines | Home-practice routines assigned to the family |
| Care Plan → Food Hierarchy | The patient's food ladder, exposure steps from safe to challenging |
| Care Plan → Handouts | Resources assigned from the Library |
| Trends → Eating Recovery | Check-in monitors: mood, sleep, GI, exposures, food log, DBT diary, coping skills, mindfulness, daily notes |
| Summary → Safety Flags | Alerts raised from screener results and check-ins, with response tracking |
| Messages | The Eating Recovery thread with the family |
Opening Care Plan for a connected Eating Recovery patient lands on Recovery Plan beside the Assigned to family board, two columns on one screen. Grant Recovery but the family has not connected yet, and you get the board on its own. Assignments still queue and flush when they link. The board shows everything queued or live: queued to send, surveys and screeners, routines, handouts, and exposure goals.
Use it to answer the question the plan itself cannot, which is what the family currently has in front of them rather than what you intended them to have. It is Eating Recovery only; other patients have no equivalent board.
Surveys, Routines, and Handouts can be used before the family connects: assigning from them queues the work. The rest need a live connection to write to.
Practice-level settings
Avatar menu → Settings → Eating Recovery:
- New-family intake packet. The tasks every newly invited family gets before their first visit.
- Clinic contact for families. Phone, office hours, and after-hours note shown in the caregiver app under "Contact your clinic."
What the family sees
Everything you assign lands in the family's Eating Recovery app. Home practice, check-ins, screeners, and messaging all run from there. What they log comes back read-only under Trends. See Reading Eating Recovery.
