Preterm infant onboarding
For patients born under 37 weeks, often with active NICU follow-up needs.
Setup specifics
- Capture gestational age at birth when adding the patient — this triggers the Fenton chart and corrected-age tracking.
- Recommend Heartful Baby primarily — corrected age in growth charts and milestones is the differentiator (see Heartful Baby).
- Use With provider connection — you'll want close eyes on growth and feeding patterns.
Multi-provider coordination
NICU follow-up often involves multiple specialists. The patient record supports multiple providers on one record — coordinate via the patient detail hub instead of duplicating records.
What to watch
- Growth on the Fenton chart through ~42 weeks postmenstrual age (weight to 42, length and head circumference to 41), then transition to WHO.
- Milestone tracking using corrected age until catch-up window per AAP guidance.
- Vaccination schedule may be adjusted — review the Vaccinations tab and update statuses (declined / contraindicated) as needed.
- Medication courses — review in Infant Tracking → Medications.
